2024 PORTLAND FINE CRAFT SHOW
Saturday, August 24, 2024 | 10am – 5pm
Free Street Parking Area, 120 Free Street, Portland ME
Admission is free and open to the public!
Featuring over 100 juried exhibitors from Maine and the greater Northeast the show is dedicated to showcasing a wide array of high-quality craft work in the following media categories: basketry, ceramics, decorative and wearable fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, printmaking, stone, and wood.
In addition to the vibrant mix of fine craft exhibitors the event will feature demonstrations, outreach booths spotlighting New England and Portland arts organizations craft guilds, and schools by invitation.

2024 Show Jurors
Exhibitors of the Portland Fine Craft Show are selected using a jury process by three members of the New England craft community with the assistance of Juried Art Services.
Patrick Coughlin – Associate Professor & Program Chair of Ceramics at Maine College of Art & Design
Patrick Coughlin is an interdisciplinary American artist. He has exhibited work in China, Italy, Japan, and throughout the United States. Patrick is an Associate Professor and Program Chair of Ceramics at Maine College of Art & Design.. Prior to Maine Patrick Worked in Jingdezhen, the ceramic center of China. He was an assistant in the design studio, working with local artisans to create ceramic designs for a global market and managing the Education Center, facilitating international exchange and instruction.
Patrick has attended residencies in Japan, Italy, and the United States. In addition, he has been a visiting lecturer at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea, and TAFA-Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in Tianjin, China. Patrick was a year-long resident artist for the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) in NYC, a 2021 Fleisher Wind Challenge recipient, and was selected as a Windgate Visual Artist Fellow from The Center for Emerging Visual Artists.

Tanya Crane – Professor of the Practice, Metal SMFA at Tufts
Crane received her MFA in Metalsmithing + Jewelry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015, and her BFA in Metal from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Currently, Crane is a Professor of the Practice in Metals at the School Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts. She is the 2018 SNAG Emerging Artist selected to present at SOFA Chicago, the 2017 recipient of the Society of Arts and Crafts Artist Award, a Haystack Mountain School Artist Residency 2017 recipient, and a participant in the Smitten Forum Metalsmithing Residency at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico 2018. She exhibited her work in a solo exhibition, Tributaries: Polarity, Exposing the Tensity, at the National Ornamental Metal Museum in Memphis, Tennessee. Her work was recently acquired for the Museum of Fine Arts Boston collection and the Stewart Foundation for Modern Design in Montreal, CN.

Anthony Anderson – Founder, Editor, Publisher of Maine Gallery + Studio Guide
Anthony Anderson has been the editor and publisher of Maine Gallery + Studio Guide for 23 years. He is a University of Maine graduate with a BS in Communications. He lives and works in Lucerne-in-Maine with wife Suzanne Anderson, a jewelry designer for “Artful Home,” and a MECA grad. Anderson spent his early summers in Venice, in the shadow of the Guggenheim, and has been a life-long lover of art and beauty.

Three exhibitors will be selected during the show for show awards, to be announced by social media. Be sure to follow the SMC on Instagram @ShopMaineCraft
Awards for Best Booth Design and Best of Show will be juried by the 2023 Show Awards Juror and announced during the day via social media.
The People’s Choice Award will be selected from visitor ballots throughout the day and announced at 4 p.m. via social media.
