Activities
Tintype Photo Portraits
Cole Caswell of AgNO3 Lab will be set up for the duration of the event offering commissioned tintype portraits to the public! Tintype commission participants will have their likeness made with the historic wet-plate collodion photographic process. Tintypes are a unique one-of-a-kind photograph on a thin sheet of metal. Each tintype is coated in light sensitive chemistry and placed in the camera while wet. The sitters likeness is then captured on the tintype with few second long exposure. The resulting image and plate is visible to the sitter moments after the exposure and will be washed, dried and varnished so it is ready to take home by the end of day or following morning. Each tintype sitting lasts about 15 minutes.
Natural Dyes Demonstration
Maine Fibershed will have a natural dye station set up for the public to learn about and participate in the process. Dye a wool skein or bandana to bring home for a small donation.
Food + Drink
Giuseppe Roasters is a Maine-based mobile coffee bar serving handcrafted espresso drinks and cold brew, bringing a full café experience directly to events and gatherings – and will be set up at Found Object all afternoon!
Wicked Smahht Chourico Caht: Taste the sizzle of authentic Portuguese comfort foods! From mouth watering cacoila (Portuguese pulled pork) to chourico and the Coney Island style hot dog.
