Shop Maine Craft Programs + Maine Crafts Association Membership = More Artist Resources and Income Opportunities:

Maine Crafts Association (MCA) split into two organizations in 2022: The MCA continues as a membership-based non-profit organization offering educational outreach and initiatives to Maine craft artists. The new entity, Shop Maine Craft, now carries out shopping-based programs such as craft shows, galleries and markets (listed below). Some SMC programs use a jury process to grant access, and others may require MCA membership or offer discounts to MCA members.

Center for Maine Craft + Maine Craft Portland

Held in the spring and fall, the gallery jury process is open to all craftspeople who live and work at least seasonally in Maine, both MCA members and non-members. The galleries conduct two juries: Fine Craft and Complementary Jury.

Portland Fine Craft Show

An annual fine craft show held in Portland, Maine featuring approximately 100 juried exhibitors from Maine and the Northeast. Jury applications are accepted November – mid-February.

GUILD LEVEL MEMBERSHIP JURY PROCESS

Guild Level Membership is the Maine Craft Association’s only juried membership. This membership level is designed to attract and bring together professional craft artists to exhibit in the Guild Level Fine Craft Shows with other professional craft artists who make work that is excellently conceived, crafted and presented.

Applications must be received 60 days prior to a Guild Level Fine Craft Show date.

Non-Juried Events

East End Vend

East End Vend is a small and festive outdoor market in Portland, Maine for Maine Crafts Association members and non-members to participate as vendors alongside farmers and foodies. East End Vend markets are typically four hours long, held on multiple dates, and offer a wide variety of art, craft, and other Maine products in a laid-back and community neighborhood setting.

Seconds & Supplies Sale

Hosted every other year between Portland and Ellsworth, Maine, this event provides an opportunity for the public and fellow artists to purchase studio supplies, materials and equipment, as well as seconds (final products not quite right for full price retail or wholesale shows and stores) directly from Maine artists.

Join the MCA

The Maine Crafts Association believes strongly in the services offered to its members. In addition to benefitting from sales venues through Shop Maine Craft galleries + events, MCA also offers educational, marketing, networking, and support services to craft artists. We strongly urge all MCA members to take advantage of these important benefits.
