Shop Maine Craft presents FOUND OBJECT: A seconds and supplies market. Featuring 40+ members and friends of Running with Scissors Artist Studios and Maine Crafts Association, source artwork, craft objects as well as seconds, studio supplies and equipment in one marketplace. Come together, have fun, celebrate craft and share materials! This community event is free and open to the public. Convenient parking is available on Anderson Street, Marginal Way, and the nearby commuter lot.
Tintypes Photo-Booth:
Additionally, Cole Caswell of AgNO3 Lab will be set up for the duration of the event offering commissioned tintype portraits to the public! Tintype commission participants will have their likeness made with the historic wet-plate collodion photographic process. Tintypes are a unique one-of-a-kind photograph on a thin sheet of metal. Each tintype is coated in light sensitive chemistry and placed in the camera while wet. The sitters likeness is then captured on the tintype with few second long exposure. The resulting image and plate is visible to the sitter moments after the exposure and will be washed, dried and varnished so it is ready to take home by the end of day or following morning. There are three size tintypes available 4×5 for $50 / 5×7 for $80 / 8×10 for $180. Each tintype sitting lasts about 15 minutes.
