MAINE CRAFT PORTLAND
521 CONGRESS ST
Kari Radasch | PARTY POTS
Aug 5 – Aug 28th , 2022
Opening Reception: Aug 5th, 5-8p
Kari Radasch of Radasch Redware’s earthenware pots are both sparse and embellished. The dishes are structurally straightforward, while the surfaces include bold, graphic, and painterly ornamentation. Kari’s revels in this dualism by collecting, arranging and garnishing then organizing, simplifying and editing both forms and surfaces. The artist thinks of her dishes at ‘platform shoes of pottery’—they are party pots with utilitarian concerns that can be used for any meaningful occasion or as a punctuated ornament to any room.
Kari is a mother, potter and tile maker living in Portland Maine. She has taught workshops and lectured across the country and loves to share her excitement for clay with her students. She currently teaches at Maine College of Art.
Come meet the artist and join us on August’s First Friday’s Art Walk for this joyous opening reception!
