Emily Shaffer Studio
Lincolnville, ME
Originally from Pennsylvania, Emily received a B.F.A in Crafts concentrating in fine metals, and B.S. in Art Education from Kutztown University. She moved to Maine in 2014 for a 1 year internship with an active studio jeweler. Since then, she has relocated her studio to Lincolnville, ME where she designs and makes contemporary jewelry.
“My focus is to create jewelry that is clean, modern and versatile. It’s made to be functional and to complement the body. Using silver, I seek and build balanced compositions of line and negative space. Limiting my color palette, and my obsession for smooth, clean surfaces, allows for a greater emphasis on the body and the linear quality of my work. My interest in contemporary jewelry and adornment fuels my will to create work that is both finely crafted, and designed for the modern day jewelry wearer. ”
Emily is the recipient of the J. Allen Pawling Craft Memorial Award, an American Craft Week 30 Under 30 Rising Star, a 2017 Halstead Grant Top 5 Finalist, and the 2018 Halstead Grant Winner.
