Basketree Baskets
Marion Gray
Warren, Maine
“I wove my first reed basket back in 1987, after my first child was born. Life soon became too busy to continue ,with a growing family and full time work with the National Park service! In 2009 , with children grown, and early retirement from NPS, I finally had time to pursue my dream of weaving again full time from home. We have since made a permanent move to Midcoast Maine, settling back down to my New England roots. I have taken classes in both black ash and Nantucket basketry, studying at the John C Campbell Folk School and Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts”
A Maine Crafts Association member, Marion Gray is a member of the Northeast Basketry Guild. She resides on peaceful White Oak Pond with her husband and cat, surrounded by natural beauty year round.
