Brooklin, Maine
I have always had my hands in the mud. Whether in the garden or in the clay studio. I studied ecology and have worked in parks, forests and in the landscaping business for most of my life. My interest in pottery developed along with my interest in the tangled web of life, particularly the botanical world.
I have attended numerous workshops and short courses in various aspects of pottery making wherever my travels have taken me. I am currently a member of the Brooklin Pottery Coop, a communal clay studio, where I begin my work on the wheel and then often alter them by, piercing and excising to reveal layers of structure and form. I draw my inspiration from the native flora that inhabits the coast of Maine and find connection and pattern in its beauty.
