Joe and Mary Devenney opened their pottery studio in 1976. For the past 40+ years they have creative collaborative works in stoneware and porcelain, with a few teaching and freelance photography careers thrown in to boot. Their work is wheel thrown and hand built, or sometimes a combination of both techniques. Their collective works span a broad selection of functional to sculptural, a collaborative or sometimes individual effort of execution for the many styles and designs they have developed over the years. The Devenneys consult each other about all of their work for ideas, criticism and encouragement. With all of these pieces, styles, and techniques, the essence of both Joe and Mary are always evident in the final product.
