After years of working on a small farm here in Maine, we decided to take a look at what we put ON our bodies, instead of just what goes into them. This led to our love of soap making. SoulShine Soap Company’s mission is to educate people about some of the harmful chemicals in today’s skin care, and to provide a healthy, reliable, handmade bar of soap that includes only a handful of ingredients that we can all pronounce. As the wonderful Michael Pollan teaches us, “If it’s made from a plant, eat it. If it’s made in a plant, don’t.” We believe the same should be said for what we use on our bodies everyday.
We hope you are motivated to investigate what you and your family use on the skin you’re in, and that you are inspired to “clean up your act” as well!
