Hélena Malone of Datura Nightbloom
As both a visual artist and a dancer, my work is rooted in the seasonal rhythms of mid-coast Maine, where I make my home.
The form of my visual art is inspired by Japanese Shinto scrolls, and its content is inspired by the natural world around me as it transforms throughout the year.
The wall hangings and clothing I create are designed to move fluidly with air currents and the body’s gestures, reflecting the ephemeral inter-responsive nature of life.
The potent beauty and vitality of the landscape around me comes to life in all my creations.
