Roger L. Stevens, Jr.
Born in Lincoln, ME on April 28, 1958, I have been a life-long Maine resident. Ever since I was young, I’ve had a passion for photography and all things wild. My adventures took me all over the lakes and woods of Maine. Twenty one years ago I left my 20 year job at the Lincoln Pulp and Paper Mill to pursue my dreams of being a professional photographer. Along with my wife Julie, I started our business, Maine Focus Photography in June of 1999. With strong support from Julie and other friends and relatives, I started out doing arts and crafts shows over New England. My business and reputation has grown over the years, due to my presence at such long running shows as the Fryeburg Fair.
Five years ago I embarked on a new path by taking my photography as illustrations and self-publishing a series of seven books about the wildlife and the events of growing up in Maine. I am proud to share that all of my books have been printed in the Great State of Maine by J.S. McCarthy Printers in Augusta, Maine. Another milestone of my recognition came with a photo I took of a gray squirrel and an eagle that went viral on the internet and has been viewed around the World!
In the next few years I plan on writing more books, taking more photos, and enjoying all that the wilds of Maine has to offer.
