Whitney GillExecutive Director

Whitney Gill’s upbringing in a creative family in rural Maine informed her trajectory into a career in the arts. Her undergraduate studies in ceramics at the University of Maine led to mentorships with successful Maine craft business professionals and the vibrant community of the MCA, and she began working at the Center for Maine Craft in 2013. With roots in retail gallery management and exhibition curation, her role developed and expanded over the following decade in step with the MCA’s growing programming, influence and capacity. She moved into the Executive Director position in 2023, now leading the organization and dedicated staff with a deep understanding of its history, mission, and core values. In addition to her work with the MCA, Whitney maintains her own ceramics practice and a production pottery studio in Bowdoin, Maine.
